Promote your business using Facebook.

Facebook is a great way to promote your business, and one of the most popular promotions you can run is a giveaway. While Facebook can reach a great number of people, including many potential customers, there are some restrictions and rules for running a promotional giveaway on Facebook. As long as you follow these guidelines, you shouldn't have any problem selling your business online.

If you want to run a giveaway, or any other promotion, through Facebook, you cannot imply, in any way, that Facebook has endorsed your giveaway. You may also not use the "Like" button to have people "vote" for a winner in your giveaway.

Apps on Facebook.com

If you want to run a giveaway on Facebook, you will need to run the giveaway through the Apps on Facebook.com page, which you can find at developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/.

Eligibility

You may not use any Facebook apps, features or utilities as eligibility requirements for your giveaway. The exception to this is that you may require people to "Like" a specific page, "check in" to a particular Place or to connect to your app. You may not, for example, require entrants to upload photos.

Winners

You cannot notify any winners of your giveaway using Facebook. Whether you use Facebook chat, wall posts or any other Facebook-based communication doesn't matter. What does matter is that you use another method of contact, such as email or telephone call.
