How to Await a Confirmation for a Relationship on Facebook

Print this articleIn a world where many people share their personal lives on Facebook, some may ask: is a relationship really official if it is not posted on your Facebook profile? On Facebook, users have many options for listing their relationship status, including "Married," "It's complicated," "In an open relationship," and "In a domestic partnership." A user can list the name of her special someone so all her Facebook friends know she is taken and off the dating market.

Select your relationship status from the drop-down menu to the right of "Relationship Status." In the blank underneath the status, enter the name of the person you are in a relationship with. A relationship request will be sent to that person. The person's name will also appear on your profile next to your relationship status.
